Leaders from several local IT solution provider companies recently gathered with leaders of United Way Metro Atlanta to hear a distinguished CIO panel discuss the trials and tribulations of their environments. Hosted by Joe Surber (AGL Resources), other panel members included Becky Blalock (Southern Company), John Seral (GE Energy) and Paul Stecher (Rock Tenn). Achievement awards for the current fund drive were presented to iVision and AT&T and the panel was moderated by Ricky Steele (Hunter Technical Resources). Each CIO panelist talked about why they are supportive of United Way and their endorsements have been very influential with many local organizations over the past few years. They also shared their views about current IT trends and a few pointers about how to become a successful solution provider for their organizations. The breakfast event provided a good time to network with several local industry leaders which included; Kathleen Kurre (TechBridge), Ken Rabun (Manhattan Associates), David Degitz (iVision), Rob Patten (Northridge) and Clint Bailey (Hunter Technical Resources). Joe Surber mentioned there will probably be another CIO panel event in April. For companies who want to become involved with this interesting group should make contact with Katie King
