Patrick Hiller, CEO, Abacus Solutions PDF Print E-mail

Patrick Hiller is understandably proud of their accomplishments at Abacus Solutions as they celebrate their 10th anniversary this year. Big dreams guided by commitments to quality, honesty and good people are among the values depicted on the signage in their lobby area. Having known these folks for all these years and having the pleasure of seeing them grow has been a real treat for me. They have been customers of TechLINKS for most of these years but more importantly, they have earned our highest respect because of the positive reinforcement we constantly receive from the marketplace.

Yesterday I enjoyed visiting their offices for an annual catch-up, and as in the past, I was very impressed. The key people who were there last year are still in place and new talent has joined their team. Their relationships with their strategic partners have continued to grow and they proudly point to the wall of logos displaying a wide variety of technology partnerships. Many of the top names in the industry are represented.

Abacus Solutions is now a real star within the local technology industry. They are the only locally owned IT infrastructure firm which operates globally. Years ago when visiting their offices, I only heard them talk about hardware. Now when hanging out in their sales/engineering offices, I hear a wide variety of solutions. They talk about server virtualization and consolidation, storage design, back up, recovery and high availability environments. They recently won the nod to become the exclusive reseller for an email archival appliance which seems to be creating a lot of positive buzz.

So yes, I am a fan of Abacus Solutions and I am not shy to speak out about them. During my talks with lots of local CIOs, each time the Abacus name comes up in conversation, it is always very positive. That makes me want to bring them up even more. (grin)
